Expressions of Interest are invited from North Island Young Riders competing at Level 4 and above who may be interested in travelling to the South Island Dressage Championships incorporating the Southern Trust SI Pony & Young Rider Championships and the York Corporation Inter Island Challenge Trophy (Derby Style competition - second round on borrowed horses).

A travel subsidy of $100 per combination is offered plus there will be a subsidy on the Inter-Islander Ferry

This is an opportunity to experience Inter-Island travel, a team competition and southern hospitality at the excellent McLeans Island venue from 3-5 March

Dressage Bay of Plenty is the combination of the four dressage groups in the Bay of Plenty Area - Rotorua, Tauranga, Eastern Bay and Taupo.

Within the area, we hold competitions all year round with the Dresssage Bay of Plenty Championship Show held in October at the National Equestrian Centre in Taupo.

"Greetings All, and welcome to the Dressage Bay of Plenty website.
As I write this our annual championship show is coming together and entries are starting to come in. You will find the schedule and the Rider Form on this website.
People sometimes ask "why the Rider Form?" Well, it is to make processing entries easier and to help riders get their entries and fees right the first time so that paperwork does not have to be shuttling madly back and forth! Before we used this system I would find myself having to either return or otherwise check up on almost 60% ofentries. but last year when we brought the system in I only had to return a handful of entries, maybe 3%... This was a huge saving in time for all concerned! This year we have altered the form slightly and I hope it will work even better.
Apart from the website we also now have a Facebook page; Dressage Bay of Plenty Championships Show‚ where we post up to the minute news and requests and where riders can add their own comments.
Other new features at the show will be the Back on Track Dressage Bonanza series, you will find more information on this here on the website, and the used gear stall run by DBOP at the champs to help fund the show.
There is also a giant raffle underway, of which more later.
All in all it promises to be another memorable show. We realise that in any year only a few riders will actually win awards, but we want all riders to go away with great memories and a determination to come back and have another go next year!"
